It's hard, i know. What i do is go sit somewhere where i cant look at those distractions, like outside or the kitchen.

Be strong!! Have a place set aside for studying away from all those distractions and tell yourself that after I finish studying I can get to the computer or watch TV. And NOT SOONER. And stick to it. If you have a special place, then eventually you will get conditioned to know that this is where I study, not play until I am finished.

It is an issue of self-discipline. Don't be too hard on yourself. I have never been able to focus on academic work at home (and I am now a teacher!) We are all individuals! If going to the library, a book store, a coffee shop work best for you, then that is what you need to do. Your academic work should come first. You can save the self-disciple for other things in life! You are fine...

You need to get into a routine and stick to it. It takes discipline, but you need to do it. Decide when you will study and just don't allow yourself to turn on the t.v. or internet. Remember, giving into temptation now may be fun, but you'll gain more in the long run if you study hard. You have to do well in college if you want a good education and a promising future. Good luck.

Perhaps the solution to your problem is to do all your work in the library before you go home.
I do, however, have some study study suggestions for you.
Here they are .
1. Have all of your materials ready and in the place that you are going to study.
3. Study when its quiet. No music, no TV, No headphones, no nothing.
4. Do your most difficult subject fist or else you may never get to it.
5. Keep a calendar so that you know when a project is due or a test is going to be given.
6. Vocabulary is very important. Words have different meanings. You need to know the meaning for the subject that you are taking.
7. Study the relationship of things. How is the topic that you studied related to the unit that you are studying?
8. Your textbook has hints for you. Many books have important words or phrases in darkened or colored type, make sure that you know them thoroughly.
The sites below are excellent and will give you many other ideas about studying.

done on this over here and no one research team has come up with a viable solution. My own views are that society changed in th 70's. Boys focused more on sport and entertainment. Girls always had to be persuaded to attempt sport and also found entertainment boring.

Ok, here's what you do.
Keep studying in the same place but keep your tv and pc OFF.
When studying you short take short regular breaks and occasional longer breaks. So mabey you could do something in the short breaks for 5 - 10 mins, then take your longer breaks on a time when your fave programme is on and watch it during your break. Or you could also go on your pc for your break!
I really hope this helps you
All the best!
