if calling your cat doesint work, and treats dont work, then what u need to do is get a kitty door, if thats not an option then put a kitty house, kinda like a dog house only smaller ouside ur door with some food and water, this way if you want to go to bed and ur kitty is outside and not ready to come indoors u will have a little Warm kitty place for him/her to sleep for the night till u let them in, in the morning. Dont EVER beat or smack ur cat for staying out late, its a cat not a kid, and it wont understand why its being punished. if your gonna do that then please give your kitty to a better home.

If you're going to put the cat out, anyway, why wait for it to come in? That doesn't make any sense! Go to bed! If you were waiting to feed it, before putting it out for the night, let it stay hungry for one night. It'll come in early the next morning, and really tell you off!!

We are simply their servants. Get used to it.

Seriously though, I had one of those cat flaps installed that is only triggered by a cat wearing the appropriate electronic collar. It was more expensive than a regular cat flap, but it's better than waking up with a raccoon or a opossum in your house! (Both of which have happened to us.)

what you could do is if the cat is out and you want to go to bed by some treats that he likes and get him use to the sound of them moving in the bag. then when you cats is out you open the door and shake the treats and he will want them so he has to come to you.

Well, she´s not disrespectful, cats often do what ever they want whenever they want, that´s just their nature.
Why don´t you buy her a little bed, or a cushion, something nice and soft, she´ll stay there and will fall asleep, and let you sleep too. :o)

Cats are independent. They come and go as they please. There's nothing you can do about it. Put in a cat door or just let it stay out...i'm sure it will be okay. Mine are.
