In my own experience - the Holy Spirit on a few occasions was drawing me into a relationship with God. The night i received Jesus Christ as my Saviour - that was the night i received the Holy Spirit - He came to live in me that night - but like i said i had experienced a few prompts. Five yrs later a friend prayed for me and i was baptised in the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues - this is the baptism Jesus promised to His followers - and happened in Acts 2 -- also called
'the empowerment' - it's being filled with the power of God.....

I do believe it might be different for each of us - this was my experience - some might disagree - but no-one can change it - it did happen exactly this way. When you receive the Holy Spirit you will know for sure.

**Our God is an awesome God - so each to their own.**

When you accept Him into your life, the Holy Spirit is a gift to anyone who believes in Jesus, put as a gift it must be accepted.

To accept a gift you must take it, your have to make a request for your gift of the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised.

Jesus said, "when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly, in my name pray ye

Open your mouth, but do not speak, talk from your heart, from your spirit and you will receive great joy as the Holy Ghost comes upon you

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
