I was all of the above, really depends on how people view you. I played football/soccer/basketball so I was a jock to some.I was friends w/ the popular crowd and the less. I had many friends because I'm a social guy and really did not care how people viewed me so I didn't have a problem talking to a "Nerd" in public view. Because I talked to a lot of what others called a nerd, some people may have put me in that category.
Now it is kinda the same, I still have friends who harshly judge people. It really is true that most Jock types or Cheerleader people who were mean to others seem to have the hardest time adjusting to becoming an adult. While some "nerds" dissappear, many flourish w/ new jobs and opportunity they have found.
Just be social to all and it will help all aspects of your career in the future.
So for me, I would most definitely say high school social status really has a Very small impact on my life now that I am 10yrs out of High school. It is good practice because there are so many social extremes in High School and you will deal w/ people like them again in a job or other areas.

I was visible only to a few good friends. Often the last one picked in a line up for a sports team at school even though I was good competition for others. I was an easy mark for being picked on by class bullies until I sent two (on separate occasions) to the hospital. The guys had very fragile noses!
I was left alone after those one punch fights. I wasn't anything but "nobody" or "invisible" to others. To heck with college I thought, so I did my time and got the heck out! I'm glad it's over even today! I watched many of the "cool ones" disolve from drugs and booze, some are dead now, some from suicide. I guess their social following didn't follow them into adult hood so they gave up on life or now work for the "Nerds" So....I am what I am today, because of who I was then. I'm a confident first born son who has achieved my goals (with exception to the common American dream) Still renting, ran my own business, now at the top of my career and respected for my skills, crazy happy with my wife, kids, grand kids, and tearing up the asphalt with my Harley in spite of all the Harley Hater's out there!

Ummm... punk-grunge-rocker chick. lol. I hang out with the popular girls though, except instead of dying my hair blonde I kept it dark, and instead of dressing like skanks (they admit to this day that they do), I dressed like a rocker. Band t-shirts, grungey jeans, etc. It's kinda weird how the popular group accepted me. But yeah, the whole Nirvana, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Metallica was my thing. Dark eyeliner, etc. Though I'm far from emo, I'm just a punk-rocker. I even have a rocker hair style. And yet, i hung out with the popular crowd. Interesting, no?
Anywho, my life now... well... still in high school... not much has changed... still look the same... still hang with the same people.

I think I am a little of a nerd and popular. I am smart and I sound like an english teacher when I talk sometimes, and I happen to know a lot of people(I am a senior, so this is subject to change)

i was very popular but i focused on school too. I have a great life now. But just remeber the nerds are the ones who usally end up succeding. If you re popular remeber to stay fousd on school.

i've got not got a standing. i'm in basic terms pretty quiet and that i've got 2 friends in intense college. i'm not a nerd or something like that cuz i'm not academically clever, so...i don't think of I actually have a standing in any respect. it would not impact how my life is now by using fact i think of i could somewhat not have a standing.

I was what we called a "hood" (someone who smoked pot and got in trouble a lot) in junior high, but in high school, I became invisible/a geek. I joined the band and we were not thought of too highly. But we had fun! I think I'm still pretty much invisible.

Awesome question
I was kinda a cross between a rebel loaner and a nerd.
Now I have a new Harley and a computer job.
I just became more of what I am.
