No. God isn't a divine coke machine. You can't pop in a prayer and expect what you want. God gives you what is in your best interest not what you want. If He gives you what you want then how come there's not more rich people?

No, I don't just pray when I want something though alot of people start out praying that way. When I'm really trying to figure something out I ask him questions and he often reveals his answers though a variety of messages throughout the week. Often times it will happen that our pastor will say something in his sermon that answers a question I had for God that week, then a friend will same something to me along the same lines without me even asking, and then I'll hear it somewhere else, such as a bible passage. When it all comes together like that in such a short time and from good resources like that, I can definitely tell God is getting his message through to me. I also thank God a lot and also just include him in things I'm thinking about throughout the day. One way you can be sure to include all the various aspects of prayer is to use the anagram FACTS. When you pray, start with Faith. A is for Adoration, tell God how wonderful you think he is, praise him, you can even sing a praise song to him. C is for Confession, tell him where you messed up and that you promise to change your behavior, T is for Thanksgiving, thank him for the wonderful things , people, etc. in your life, but you can also thank him in the difficult times too that it is helping you grow in faith and grow closer to him. S is for Supplication a fancy word for asking. Ask God what you would really like help with, for example, not just to give you an A on a test, but help you to clear your mind and do your best (remembering you have to do your part too). and always, not your will but HIS will be done. We only see a small part of the picture, but God sees the whole picture and knows what is best for us in the long run. Hope that helps.

No, I pray a lot during the day, and even sometimes during the night when I wake up. I am very thankful for what the Lord has blessed me with, and I can't say that I don't ask for much, because I do ask daily for guidance and the continued protection for my family, and feel very blessed that he has allowed me to have them. As far as asking for material things, I don't really want for much and I know the Lord will provide what ever he feels I need, so I leave it up to him. I know that my real life with be with him in his Kingdom, where we will never want for anything, and will always be blessed.

Actually, I don't pray on a regular basis. I pretty much do it constantly. Talking to a wall is not a sign of sanity.

Remember,
I try to pray at different times throughout the day each and every day, at each meal, during times when others need prayer, when I am happy, needful, and when I am sad. We are told that we are to pray constantly. I pray about everyone who needs assistance and I pray for our troops. I pray for my personal family and for our church family. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

I pray regularly, daily. Most of my prayers are prayers of gratitude and thankfulness for what the Lord has blessed me with. And on occasion, I ask him for the things that He feels I need.

I only pray to God the Father, when I can not overcome temptation, I ask the Father for the strength to overcome the weakness of my flesh and to deliver me from evil.

I pray at any given time. The Lord knows what you want without you even praying. You should humble yourself before the Lord and ask that his will be done, not yours.
