I want to forget this boy I have a crush on. Im 13 and he is 16-17. I found out recently, and I really just want to forget him because I know people wont really accept us going out.
What do you think of this?

I used to like him and im really sure he used to like me, alough we have only talked very briefly.

How do you forget something you really want to carry on? Thanks people.

I know the feeling... but I won't go into details.
How do you forget? You don't. You just live with it until next obsession. Hopefully it won't last seven years like it did with me. Some times I still think about her.

everyone's been through this type of situation. youre 13, so you have a lot of growing up to do. i didn't mean that in a derogatory way or anything, but if he's that much older than you, you might not even want to get involved with him. guys that are 3 or 4 years older than you can be really tricky. what i'd suggest is to really throw yourself into hanging out with your friends or joining school clubs or really focusing on your schoolwork. keeping yourself busy like that really helps, and i'm not just saying that because i really do know. eventually, your memory of him and your crush will fade. best of luck!

If you have a cut, and then it forms scab and you keep picking at it, it will never heal.

On one level, you won't ever forget him. And in five or ten years, when the age difference doesn't make a difference, who knows?

For right now, don't worry about forgetting him. Just live your life, go out and be involved in activities - and one day you'll realize you've gone a whole day without thinking about him. But if try to WORK at forgetting him - you never will.

Do something that you like with your friends that doesn't involve boys or talking about boys. Read a book, go see a movie, play a game, go for a walk with someone from your family and tell stories. Give your brain a break for a while, it will give you some perspective.

You are growing up, and you will have a lot of crushes on boys, before you find the right one. So just get your mind on something else, and he will fade away in time. You may never forget him completely, but he won't be on your mind all the time.
