According to google maps, it is 42 minutes from our hotel, and can be up to 2 Hours in traffic.
But if we took a taxi, wouldn't that cost a lot, and also I get travel sickness, and I can't exactly ask to stop.

from downtown LA there is (as someone suggested)
the direct bus line 460 for $2.75
it goes direct to Disneyland

You can't get an accurate answer because your question is missing one important piece of information IE: where is your hotel. Los Angeles is 478 square miles so just saying Los Angeles isn't any help. Please supply a general location of the hotel and you will soon get the answer you want.
A general answer will probably be some variation of either: 1) take the Metrolink train to Anaheim, then a taxi to Disneyland or 2) take the # 460 Metro bus directly to Disneyland.

disneyland has their own shuttles or you can take Super Shuttle or Prime Time Shuttle. Or you can rent a car and drive south on the 5 directly to Disneyland.
