If you are in a "target rich environment," just smile, and get them to talk about themselves. Learn to listen actively. Let them begin to talk and ask frequent questions to show that you are interested.
Get them to talk. Guys are really vain. If given the chance, they will do most of the talking. Just act as though you are interested, smile, nod your head, and ask for clarification of facts -- reflect on how they feel about what they are talking about -- no matter whether it is World Cup Rugby ["Vive les Bleus!" -- yes, I know that South Africa won], fishing, their automobile or motorcycle, engineering, accounting, or diamond cutting. Tell them you like their necktie or their socks, make positive comments.
Try to avoid speaking about politics or religion
If you feel like you need experience talking to guys, try talking to some guys you don't really care about just to get experience. Talk to your brother, your cousin, or a guy who is short. GAIN KNOWLEDGE FROM EXPERIENCE. The more experience in talking and listening you have, the better you will do.
If all else fails, take an Andrew Carnegie course or join Toastmasters. You need to be comfortable talking to anybody about anything.

Well, it ain't easy to get over, but what you're gonna have to do is find more confidence in yourself... focus on what makes you feel good about yourself, then begin to put that side of you forward. Then, any guy you like will be drawn to you... and yeah, you might have to doll up some.

Just be more outgoing.. Yes people will say go talk to him .. etc.. etc.. Start with small talk, Random questions that have nothing to do with him( Homework etc) which those all work, BUT if you have a problem with that just be around him more often( Have your friends be with you) and be outgoing.
