i want to talk to him. he sits behind me but he sits beside this girl amy and they talk all the time him and then the girl beside me brianna talks to him and amy. so would it be weird if i just turned around and started talking to them all the girls are really popular and they will ask everyone in the class is they have like a (example) pencil sharpener exept me and i have one so they would rather go without than talk to me but should i still give it a shot and be like who cares about the girls and just talk to thomas and if the girls talk to me to thats all good what should i do ???? help i am confused

just talk to him. If the girls don't want you - their problem. they can ignore you - ignore them. just talk to him about what he's interested to. Or interfere when they start talking and correct this girls or say something about it.

if the girls ask around again for a pencil sharpener but dont ask you...offer it...maybe he'll see that your generous. im the same way, i dont want to talk to a guy if hes surrounded by all these girls...but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. lol. if your too nervous to talk to him in class, then wait until you see him in the hall or something...wait for a chance after class when everyone is getting ready to go to their next class...but dont talk his ear off...maybe just smile and say hi at first so he knows your approachable and nice and then later maybe start small talk, like ask him how he did on the homework...or if hes glad its friday. if he plays sports ask him how his last game went or something he's interested in. it'll also show him that you are capable of having a conversation like a human being and are interested in something other than yourself. i hope this helps you!! good luck!!

well, if you are allowed to talk in class, I'd say start talking to the person next to you. Talk to him in the hall, but not too much! He will want to know what you are talking about eventually.. Also, when seats are changed, you may end up in a better position to talk. Popular is about yourself. Be nice, respectful, stay out of conflict, chat, but not too much with the girls you feel are popular, and have 2 or 3 special friends. Have a reason if you turn to talk, leave them wanting to hear more.. They will include you, don't ever go out of your way for friendship though, it will be there when the time is right

Well I don't think you should just turn around and start talking to them out of the blue, it may make you look dumb. Just give him good eye contact, if you have a chance to talk to him one on one try that instead. Good luck!

Wait until class is out and try to talk to Tom without everyone in earshot.
