Hi. It depends on your personal style. By the time I was your age, I had pretty strong feelings about my room. That's when I knew I was going to be an interior designer some day. And guess what... I am! So, some quick ideas are... if you're craving some color, it's easy to paint pieces of foam core (2 pieces of card board with foam in the middle - you get it at the craft store) and turn them into abstract art. Use acrylic or tempra paint and have fun. Make sure you put papers or old rags down under the work area. I like to spread some bright colors around, then use the paint brush to drip and flick more paint. Another idea is to take photos of your favorite things. If you have a digital camera this is easier, but a regular camera can work too. The idea is to take some photos, turn them into jpeg's on the computer and then morph them into art. You can change the colors, swirl them, blow them up, shrink them down... you get the idea. Sometimes it's fun just to have a bunch of pictures all in the same one color - either black and white or some other color - and then group them. One really important thing I've learned is to work with what you have and stay true to what you love. Do you have a special pet? Make that the focus. Do you have a special passion? Music, dancing, sports... use what you love and your space will always be special.

If you have white walls you could do a black and white theme - if you have a Marshal's near you they have some items in the stationary box area which would give you some inspiration. Target has some items in a black and white theme, and you could hang some curved or funky shaped mirrors (large, not small) to add light to make the room look larger. If black and white is too simple, try throwing in a few small pillows in one color - jewel tones, a purple color, or a teal color, and add a small potted flower of some sort, such as an orchid.

Target has some neat things for teens over in the sheet section--they have some rugs you could lay over your carpet and change the whole look of your room.

With a white carpet you can do almost anything. I like polka dots....all different colors. You don't necessarily have to paint the walls...use cut outs. That allows you have different color throw rugs, they have circles....for your bed, use pink sheets, yellow pillowcases, a blue cover...curtains can be any color.
Good Luck.
