in the time of great dangers, when there is no hope left,it is pretty common for average theists and even for the most careless theists to at least pray to their God/supreme lord once for salvation........well what do you guys do at the time of such danger and why??
in such moments did you ever think that you should have been a believer??
just a curiosity of mine.....let me know your opinions......cheers

Kenshin .....take it easy....I am not ridiculing anyone.........I told you it was just curiosity..........and if I really had to ridicule I could have come up with something offensive ,but that would be stupid........

In a time of great danger one should assess one's options in the most rational way possible.

My question is why would a theist even try to escape danger if:

1) Heaven is much better than earth.

2) They are sure they will go to heaven if they die

3) The danger ensures that they will die without having to commit suicide (a sin)

Instead of wasting my time begging the non-existent sky-pixie to save me I would try to work out how I would save myself and as many of those around me.

If I was an atheist in a foxhole I would be really pissed if the guy next to me was paying attention to praying rather than paying attention to keeping himself and me alive.

I wouldn't be wasting valuable time praying to a sky daddy that doesn't exist. The time would be much better spent looking for ways to survive.

Well...instead of kneeling in one place in the line of danger praying and making myself an easy target....I would get the hell out of harm's way. Yep...most definately. Then I'd be like "Wow!!! Did you just see that??? "

Every christian who tries to escape the path of a speeding bullet with fear in his eye is an example of a "foxhole conversion" to atheism and proves they don't really believe in a heavenly paradise in the hereafter. There are a hell of a lot more of those conversions than there are of atheists to christians

Not pray.

Maybe it is just me, but it almost sounds like you are ridiculing us for not talking to an imaginary friend when things get tough.

uhhh... i believe we look for answers to prevent the danger, in stead of praying to thin air. as long we're alive there's always hope.

I'd be determining what to in order to survive, since I already know there's no sky-fairy to save me.

I'd take action....for example, find cover from bullets, or look for something to hold on to. Prayer is counter-productive.
