I'm wondering if I have a staph infection. A bunch of kids at my school recently had them, (mostly football players), but I don't hang out with these kids, and I have 6 or 7 very tiny scabby things all over my body, (one on my hand, the rest on my legs), that started out looking like bug bites. When I itched them they broke and now they are infected/ scabbed. I don't know if this is a staph infection or if it needs to be treated. I don't think they are speading but they don't seem to be improving. I have been putting anti-bacterial ointment on them. Is this a good idea? Do I need to go to the doctor? Does staph go away on it's own? What are the chances this is staph?

It does not feel hot to the touch and is not painful. They were itchy, but now that they are scabby they do not feel itchy. Can someone describe to me what staph looks like and if this is staph like of just infected bug bites? I have no idea.

Are they painful? You should go to the doctor. Staph is very serious and nothing to play with. Tell your parents right away. Good luck. 2D

If they are red, hot to the touch and if they have been there longer than a week and your not picking at the scab....then you do need to go to a doctor and let them look at them. Sometimes bug bites can turn into celluitis and you'll need to take a steroid for the inflammation.

No idea if its staph, so go to a doc if they are not better or if they seem to be getting worse. Staph does not go away on its own, and the only way to know if its staph is to go to a doctor. Neosporin does not kill staph!!

As you may be seeing this string of staph going around is a life and death situation. Since there have been reports confirmed at your school it's best to see a doctor. Even just for peace of mind.

They were probably going to fix whatever didn't heal correctly with this surgery but most of the time, they will not operate if you have a staph infection. That can be very dangerous and they usually will wait until it clears up to even attempt to operate. I am sure that they are running tests to see what he has, how bad it is, etc. Don't worry, they are there to take care of him and they will do the best from him. He will be okay.

Go to the doctor! That could get really bad. The staph strains that are going around now can be deadly, get checked out.

It depends are the wounds extremely red or hardened? are you having chills or fever?is there a yellow discharge coming from the wounds?those are symptoms of staph. If u have those symptoms go to the doctor. Generally staff enters the body through a pre existing wound. my roomates were both diagnosed with staff their wounds got huge like orange sized and hard with redness swelling and discharge. If your symptoms resemble these yes definitely go to the doctor.

GO TO A DOCTOR.

The internet is not a medical solution. If you ever feel something is not right, go see your doctor or go to the emergency.
