I worked at the same place for 2 half years. I quit and now they asked me to come back my only problem is I'm worried she's going to try and screw me out of the raises that i had before and start me back out really low. Can they do this?? My husband says if she wont let me i just need to take the paycut and get over it but i really don't think it would be fair I' haven't worked there in just 4 months. How do i avoid all this? And if I don't like what money she is willing to give me what do i say??

I quit because they screwed me out of my raise and i had signed off on in december 31st and 6 months later i still hadn't received it.

They can offer you whatever they feel likE- more or less than what they paid you before. You don't have to accept that, of course. If she tells you she's willing to pay 550.00 a week, you say, "I was anticipating 750.00 a week based on my prior salary. I'm hopeful we can come to an agreement." She may come up and you may have to come down, but if you really really need this job, and it sounds like you do, your husband may be right- you may need to bite the bullet and get over it.
PS- If they screwed you once, I'd think twice about returning there to work- esp since you clearly seem to think they are out to screw you again. Given any other options, I'd work elsewhere if at all possible.

I certainly wouldn't take a pay cut! I'd insist on the next step raise! They are the ones who want you back. If she won't give you what you believe you are worth, why do you want to go back there? You must have had a reason to quit in the first place after two years.

They can offer you whatever they want to. You quit and you lost whatever benefits you accrued. However, since they are asking you back you have room to negotiate. You need to ask what they plan on paying you, if you do not feel it is fair you can ask for more and be prepared to explain why you are worth the more (site your experience, the fact they will no need to train you, etc.). They may agree or they may refuse. You just need to know what the least amount of pay you are willing to take the job for. If they are unwilling to pay you what you want, you can always refuse the job.
