Is it religion, politics or a mixture of both that's causing so much upset? I know it's a very deep subject & close to a lot of peoples' heart, but it's a worry sometimes, isn't it? Why do peple fall out so much over religious stuff?
Haven't heard the Pope or Rowan Williams saying much lately. The Israel/Palestine situation seems to have gone quiet (thankfully) Mind you. I thought that was more about territory than religion these days.
What's your take on all this religion stuff? Seems like it causes more harm than good sometimes, but how is it affecting the world we're living in now?

It is not the fault of religion per se. It is wrong religion that is the problem. If everyone followed the example of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, we would have a perfect world of love for everyone and no more wars.

It may seem a lot of nonsense to some people, but its leading to WW3. When eh USA invaded Afghanistan, they lit a trail of Gunpowder that leads back to Israel.

Since then all counties near that trail have been involved in turmoil. When it finally reaches the powder kegs in Jerusalem. Then the whole Middle East will explode in violence.

As the west was stupid enough to become dependant on ME oil, Then it has to get involved and then bye bye peace for a very long time.

Because people are so gullible and believe all sorts of things a religion makes a good base for some people who are trying to gain political power to use. It has always been that way since man started to form religious ideas and I suppose it will always be that way

Did you notice how all the religious leaders from the pope on down to all the evangelical and born again fundamentalist preachers all condemmened the recent war in Iraq and how they all voted against Bush and Cheney and the White House's push to send troops to Iraq to wage war there? No? You didn't see that? You know why? They're all in bed together. Thats your religion for ya!

I believe in God, but don't belong to a religion. I can't defend what religions do in the name of God.
