... Yeah, let's compare an image that is a decade or two old to one that looks like it came out in the last year or two. Nice and fair comparison. I'd be the first to admit that I love anime, but 80's anime was for the most part just as badly animated, and you can find higher quality stuff from America now.

I don't think comparing Japanese and American animation will get any of us anywhere. It's like comparing apples to oranges. First of all the cultures are different so let Americans do what they want and let the Japanese do what they want.
Let us watch what we think is best for our tastes and stop putting down one or the other. Onegai!

Well japan ws doing anime beforeus, they have more people to choose from and in general opinion smarter people also i think that the studios have a different opinion of what people wish to watch which they do. I personally prefer japanese animation though^^

I think japanese anime is much better because they actually have a storyline and eventually end...unlike american cartoons..that just stop airing once they get old.
I think the jap drawings and animations are better they are better ideas and the people are readdy detailed...unique
and american studios cant come up with ideas as great as japanese
also japanese characters voices are so cute and match the person
but who knows?
thats just my opinion

I don't know, perhaps you can tell me why Anime is so pathetically cheap. Still shots being simultaneously rotated and zoomed in or out on do not make for animation. Reusing the same 3 frames 10 times in a row does not make for good animation.
America may have some pretty lame animation, but at least they can still call it animation.

I don't like a lot of American animations either but that's just a preference. You just have to find what you like and support it.
