Remember we are talking about value here and not numbers. Just because there are millions of the little guys on every try, all but one of them die. Does each have a soul? Where is the soul before the union? This is not a troll, this is a question that has been discussed since cells were discovered.

To Action... you make a leap from life to a soul. Every bactieria has life so I don't think you want to argue life = soul.

Esp. since that would make my question even harder for you. By the way, please don't ignore where the soul resides before the union; you people who say that there is no soul until the union.

AdoreHim--or arbitrary and according to nature. Wasteful as usual, but always interesting.

Sperm?

Don't you know scientists can get DNA from skin cells!

Don't shed on the carpet!

EACH CELL IS A POTENTIAL BABY!

Sperm isn't because it's never going to become a human on it's own. It has to join with an egg.

By the way, the Bible does not say it's not a child until it takes its first breath.

Lastly, even if you don't believe the Bible, science will show you that every embryo is in fact alive. The embryo performs all the functions of life, and therefore is alive and a person. I find it strange that people point to science for everything under the sun (and the sun itself), yet conveniently ignore it when it might hinder what they consider their "rights".

Maybe it's only half a soul, since you need the egg to give it "complete" life. ^_^ Seriously, most people don't think there's a soul till the sperm and the egg combine and the cells start to divide and form the child. Though exactly which point it is truly considered human, I'm not sure. (Though, why do they call it an abortion when a woman has a doctor remove it? Yet it's called a "miscarriage" when her own body ABORTS it naturally?)

Catholic14, you obviously know NOTHING about male anatomy. Please... educate yourself.

DAD:
There are Jews in the world.
There are Buddhists.
There are Hindus and Mormons, and then
There are those that follow Mohammed, but
I've never been one of them.

I'm a Roman Catholic,
And have been since before I was born,
And the one thing they say about Catholics is:
They'll take you as soon as you're warm.

You don't have to be a six-footer.
You don't have to have a great brain.
You don't have to have any clothes on. You're
A Catholic the moment Dad came,

Because

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

GIRL:
Let the heathen spill theirs
On the dusty ground.
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is wanted.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

MUM:
Hindu, Taoist, Mormon,
Spill theirs just anywhere,
But God loves those who treat their
Semen with more care.

MEN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
WOMEN:
If a sperm is wasted,...
CHILDREN:
...God get quite irate.

PRIEST:
Every sperm is sacred.
BRIDE and GROOM:
Every sperm is good.
NANNIES:
Every sperm is needed...
CARDINALS:
...In your neighbourhood!

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is useful.
Every sperm is fine.
FUNERAL CORTEGE:
God needs everybody's.
MOURNER #1:
Mine!
MOURNER #2:
And mine!
CORPSE:
And mine!

NUN:
Let the Pagan spill theirs
O'er mountain, hill, and plain.
HOLY STATUES:
God shall strike them down for
Each sperm that's spilt in vain.

EVERYONE:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite iraaaaaate!

what makes the child is the FERTILIZED EGG- not a sperm in itself. Why is not every sperm valuable , because it is not human until it meets with the EGG. That one child that is conceived when you think of it this way, has to be special and planned, don't you think????

A being with a soul is formed when the sperm meets the egg.

as I do not think the soul is in the egg or sperm most eggs also die unless a woman is permanently pregnant. and far more baby's dies before the pregnancy is known than we can imagin. but there is a great differance between losing an embrio and deciding to destroy one.

Are you saying that the egg is more valuable than the sperm?

Why do you say every human egg is valuable?

2007-10-26 08:13:24 · answer #9 · answered by hisgloryisgreat 6 · 0 0

eggs and sperm are not important in that way.
They have the same value.

You might be thinking of embryos...?
