You can threaten them with court. If that doesn't work then ultimately you will have to file a claim with the courts. You don't have to have a lawyer in small claims court but if it is a great amount you might want to consult a lawyer. Now if for some reason they are not satisfied or your work was not up to par they might have a case against you also. GOOD LUCK!

Talk to a lawyer and have the lawyer send them a letter saying you will sue them if they don't pay. That is usually enough to make them pay to avoid going to court and having to pay what they owe plus your legal fees.

Place a builders lien on the home. They can't sell the property until you remove it. It will also prevent them from refinancing or restructuring their home loan.

if its a side job you should always get the cash first before you do the job
