I do agree maybe he's not ready. At least he's stepping up and taking responsibility for his baby. However, I do agree that you are doing too much. He can still be a "free" man but has pretty much a wife at home with no legal document. Express your concerns with him if you are truly worried about it. Communication is the #1 key to being successful in a relationship.

Why buy the cow when the milk is free??? My sister has 3 of her boyfriends kids they have been together for years, they have a house together and we alll tell her they need to get married so she can al least get benefits and stuff, but he does not want to do it. I don't think there is a way to make a person do something they have to want to do it.

Why should he? He's already got everything that comes with marriage, short of the threat of alimony if he screws up. If he loved you truly, he'd have already married you.
