Excellent pistol, expected German top quality. Make sure you get one without that stupid bump in the bottom of the trigger guard. Also, is the accessory rail up front a standard size or do you need a specific Walther accessory to fit on the rail? Standard size is much better. After years of making their pistols way too expensive Walther is making a comeback it seems.

The Walther P99 is an excellent weapon so is the Glock 19 If you can't have both keep the Glock it's paid for and good to go.

I own an early version of the sw99 (same thing, many of the parts are made in germany). I love it. I have big hands and the replaceable backstrap makes it so I can at least get some contact with my left hand. The double action first shot means you can use it as production in competition and get a NICE single action trigger on following shots. It is easy to field strip and I have not seen too many ~4'' barrels that are that accurate. Aside from when I made some bad reloads it has never jammed. I also do not clean my gun after everytime I go shooting. You will find that you can get cheap 17 round mags. I had a G19 also and found that my 99 fit perfectly in everything but my Kydex holster (the 99 is a little shorter). I found it even concealed well.

The Walther P99 is a 9mm or .40 S&W high quality pistol, carried by utilising James Bond initiating in the following day never Dies, jointly as the Walther P22 is a .22 long Rifle high quality, which I surely have shot and it relatively is my opinion that the P22 is a cushty shooting, staggering little plinker.

The Walther is an excellent pistol, for some reason though I just don't particularly favor them. Nothing bad against them just me I guess.
I would go with a Heckler & Koch USP. They are very realiable guns and are put through the most strenous durability tests.
But by all means, the Walther is an execellent choice.

Walthers and Smith & Wesson have joined up, and the gun was manufactured as the S&W 990L series as late as 2006, it is not listed in the 2007 S&W catalog. Walthers have a reputation for making good guns, but I have no experience with this model.

I have never fired one but a buddy of mine has one in .40 and likes it. I really do not care for the design myslef, but Walther makes quality products. Go for it. I am curious about your Glock. Did the trigger design get to you? I really do not like the Glock trigger.

A friend of mine had a 99 QA in .40. Expect for the fact I do not like .40s it was a great gun. Very good choice.
