Put plainly...an addiction to sex. Just as a drug addict HAS to have a fix, a nymphomaniac HAS to have sex.

The planning of going out and seeking a partner, the act of finding a partner, the act of sex itself gives them a high, as would drugs. It fills an emotional void...you didn't have to be raped as a child to engage in this behavior. It can stem from a range of things like to a lack of intimacy as a child or it could stem from some sort of abuse.
It would be incorrect to say that they just really like to have sex. Someone who just likes to have sex doesn't put their life or families life in danger by engaging in unsafe sex, sex outside of their marriage or possibly breaking up their family.
Like I said, it is an addiction. It should be treated as such. It is a very serious and self-destructive behavior and lifestyle to have.

Its a reaction to being sexually abused at young ages.

The controlled wants to become the controller of that which they fear the most.

This dynamic is true with any disorder that involves victimizing others at the cost of their own well being.

People with this disorder are in denial and need to address it to stop the bad karma, so that sex is an uplifting experience not a draining experience.

Because, who is the victim here? The one that demands it at any cost or the one who is on the receiving end who is compromising themselves for acceptance instead of being in their joy?

Sex is supposed to be good. The price that nymphomaniacs pay is at a high cost. It retards their ability to have meaningful relationships at the cost of their physical and mental well being.
