My DR. prescribed me Valium 5 mgs for muscle spasms in my back. He told me to take them with the Percocet that I also take twice a day. I did not take them with the Percocet because I have never taken this stuff and didn't want to be completely out of it. I took one Valium this morning at 6:30am and it is now 2:00pm and I feel so horrible! Groggy, tired and I have a headache. Almost like I'm hungover! I have dumped that Valium down the toilet. I will never take that stuff again! When can I expect to feel better???

You should get better quick, Valium doesn't have a long life in your system. Notify your doctor about your reaction to the Valium, and he can perscribe straight muscle relaxers, I use Morphine 24hrs a day, Valium is worthless except for anxiety. I take muscle relaxers constantly, and they usually will make you drowsy, some more than others. So it is important to notify your doctor so he can perscribe something that won't mess you up. Valium generally is meant as a relaxant to slow heart rate. You should feel much better after a good night's sleep; However, I would go back and consult with your doctor because if you're already on perks, I don't see why you would need something else for Muscle Spasms.

Valium takes time to get used to. Cut in half or fourths and start that way next time you refill it or ask for alprazolam (Xanax) It is a good one to start with. Any Benzos (valium, xanax) will relax you and make you sleepy.
I take mine at night because they knock me out during the day. If my back is really bad during the day I take a half valium with a caffeine product.

Percocet is for pain and not a good thing to take with Valiums. Your gonna be tranquilized until it gets out of your system in three days.
Try other methods for relief, walking , exercise and eat three meals a day balanced diet.
Thats better than pills.

hi My 2,
I do know a little about meds and depending on you own body that seems like a high dosage. That combined with Percocet sounds like trouble or reason for another doctors appointment
good luck

I take Zanax for anxiety disorder. But before this drug came along, Valium was prescribed alot! I know one of the side effects that Zanax does not have is that is can be very very addictive! So, you may want to be carefull with it.. :)

Start doing stretches for your back. In the morning and at night. I hurt my back and neck 15 years ago and I still have to do stretches or sometimes I can't even sit up without being in pain.

Dumping Valium down the toilet is drug abuse. just kidding.
It should leave your body in 12 hours. I don't know of any M.D. that would prescribe both together. Tell him .

Whenever you get a sleep you'll wake up and feel fine really...Just have a few hours good sleep...It's taken as a sleeping pill also and for anxiety so definitely that's all you need to do!
