I was on Paxil 10mg's for a month and had some side effects so the doctor switched me to Lexapro 20mg's. He said they were the same type of drug so switching wouldn't cause problems. Well a few day after I switched I started getting chills and felt really crappy. I've since cut my lexapro down to 10mg's(20 seemed too strong) and feeling better. Anybody else had this happen? I think the doc was full of !@#$

Paxil is crazy. You are probably experiencing WD. I'm surprised he didn't make you do a gradual ease off.

Lexapro is Escitalopram which is C20H21FN2O

Paxil is Paroxetine which is C19H20FNO3

They might work the same (in some people) but they are not the same chemical.

My mom takes Lexapro and it does her wonders.
