Depends what kind of food you're looking for...
Some of my favs are: Port O Call on Esplanade Ave, Mona Lisa's on Royal and Angeli's on Decatur.
Those aren't "traditional" new orleans food, though.
Check out Tujague's, Bubba Gumps or there's this restaurant on Toulouse next to One Eyed Jacks (can't remember the name!) that's really good.

Depends on how much you wanna spend. Lots of great places with all different price ranges. New Orleans is known for it's food.

Expense account or big occasion? Arnaud's or Commander's Palace are superb.

Your own money? Acme Oysters or Felix Oyster House. Cold beer, loose atmosphere, and tasty fresh-shucked sliders.

Naturally, you'll drink too much. Way too much. It's impossible not to in Nawlins. So....the morning after, let the slack-jawed tourists eat greasy beignets at Cafe Du Monde. Get thee to Mother's for a Garbage Biscuit.

You'll thank me.
