Where do you think you'll be in the next five years?

Since I'm not a job hopper, I hope to be with your company should I get this position.

What are your salary expectations?

I'm not comfortable giving out a number because I would need to see the entire compensation package - the cost of health insurance, 401(k) match, vacation time, etc. The number I would need could change based on how much out of pocket expense I would have for health care, etc.

Or you can say "I am making X dollars with my current employer, but I would want to look at your entire compensation package before making a decision. I'm not interested in making a lateral move."

Why are you applying for the junior position?

I like doing that type of work. I believe that my skils and background are such that make me a good fit for the QC position. I don't know that I would be as happy in the R&D position.

In five years I would hope to have progressed to a managerial position with this company. I would expect to be reasonably compensated for the job that I am performing and would be willing to discuss exact amounts at the time of a job offer. What is your company's salary range for this position? I am applying for this position because I would like to get some first hand experience in your operation. I always feel that progressing within the company is the best way to learn.
