Like we're checking who converts who?

Don't they see we're here for the heck of it?

It's because many christians do view this as a sort of battle. Some actually take screen names with "warrior" and other such martial words in them.
It's very strange.

Edit: Beta - No. Can't you see the difference between taking a cartoon character for an avatar vs. calling yourself "warrior for christ" or "soldier of the lord"?
C'mon, don't be obtuse.

I find any post suggesting they know why any group of people are here or shouldn't be here a bit comical.

Although I have to say I'm intrigued by some. I'm intrigued by the possibility that some think they're slyly manipulating others. Posts like this one everyone I'm sure has seen.

"No atheist would ever come here unless they're actually not an atheist and they're trying to find out about god. I'm a former atheist and never came here." I'm paraphrasing of course.

I love the thinking behind this. I'm hoping it's a theist pretending to be a former atheist. I love strategy so I would be disappointed to find out he really was just a former atheist who thought this.

what is most interesting in the battle for souls that is raging here and everywhere on this earth is that God will meet us where ever we are, including YaHoo.

The Amazing Grace and Light and Love of Christ filled my life by the power of His Holy Spirit. i pray this for you, so wake up sleeper and arise from the dead and let the Light of Christ shine upon you!

They like feeling like victims (some of them). It justifies their faith (or so they feel). If they feel victimized, there must be something of substance to be victimized for. I guess they don't realize that out of everybody here, Christians are the ones doing the most victimizing in the *ahem* "REAL" world.

Oh well. I don't care if it makes them think they're stronger in their faith. It's fun!

Theists believe in spiritual battle. So I do not believe my enemy is you but the Spirits of darkness, of Satan. I don't agree with you about being there for the heck of it. Sorry, but I would rather see you in Heaven some day. We're actually fighting for you not against you. For your soul.

I am waging a battle and I'm trying to take all the believers down.

No just here because I'm bored.

Obviously not otherwise the 'Why do Atheists post on the R&S board' questions every single day would stop.

If that is what they think, so be it. They are welcome to believe whatever they want. This is America, Land of the Free. I don't particularly care what anyone believes. I think everyone should suit themselves. I freely admit to pointing out the idiocy of their beliefs, but they always reward me by replying in kind.

I'm fighting a battle for rationality and critical thinking. It's just a coincidence that most of the world is against me.

I'm not here to try and convert anyone, I am just voicing my opinion.
