You are totally my favorite animal.

If you go by Dante, it depends what level of Hell you are on. Most are lukewarm or windy. Some have boiling rivers of blood. Some have boiling pitch. But, go to the center of Hell (and earth and the universe, as thought in Dante's time) and you find Satan with the traitors, frozen in ice.

Yes, give me thumbs down for actually studying the Comedia for a semester. Geniass.

Those who don't know may believe it is cold now, but when the time comes you can bet it will be the hottest and fire to cause more pain than you could ever imagine and it shall last forever. Is that what you want> How about a life filled with eternity in heaven and no tears or pain and all the beauty more than imaginable to anyone. The bible specific says the lake of fire and the screaming and shouting for a drop of water, and the flames.

When I had a vision to hell, it was sooooo cold, to the very bone and so very dark. I have never experienced this type of darkness on earth. I know that everyone was screaming in pain. Another time I had a vision, I did see skeltons, and I recognized a face, even though she had no fleshly face. In this vision, I did see what you would consider fire and also actually got to see the torment taking place. No one really would want to go there if they saw it for the way it is. This is the great lie of satan. Do you think that he would let people know what horrible torment was in store for those that don't accept Jesus?

Luke 16:23-25 (NIV) (Sweet Jesus says) And being in torments in Hell, he* (*a rich man in Hell) lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. (Hey, these are words of Sweet Jesus!)

Revelation 14:10-11 "he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur IN THE PRESENCE of the holy angels and of the Lamb* (*aka God the Son Jesus Christ and the some Christians/John 17:24). And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name." (Hey, what a show for all the Christians!)

The 'Hel' of Norse mythology is the frozen belly of a living monster. The 'Hell' of Christian origins has the sinner being eaten and taken down to a lake of fire. Mere mortals cannot know during this existence...

Being the word hell is Hebrew meaning your grave and back in those days they lived in Rocky territory they could not dig graves so they would put you in a pit put sulfur on you to burn your carcass so that it would not stink and spread diseases . That's what brimstone is burnt sulfur . So i would say yes its hot.

Apparently, it is the right temperature because not many return to talk about it. Of course, some say they have been there and have returned to warn others; but I doubt it because of the rich man and Lazarus account in the Bible.I know that I am not that curious that I am going to take the chance to find out. Are you?

hell is the common grave. "For dust you are and to dust you will return." gen 3:19 and all these answers you get about fire and brim stone in the bible (mainly revelation) these terms are only implying absolute destruction. the second death. fire is the best symbol to show total annihilation. ecc 9:5 clearly shows that after death we return to where we were before we were born. we are unconscious. where does the flame go when you blow it out? sorta like when humans die.
