For three weeks now the Marlboro reds you buy do not burn properly -they smolder, and taste crappy.

Ahhhh... your state has decided to change to the "safe burning papers". Look on the side of the box... I bet there is a little black line over the bar code (this was not on the old smokes) that is their way of letting you know that they are the safe burning papers. They switched to thoes about 2 years ago in NY. They are supposed to go out if you dont take a puff. They are disgusting and they do fizzle out. Sorry... the only thing you can do is switch brands or quit smokeing lol... good luck.

I found out from Friend that works at a local store that some of the owners are buying off the Internet a cheaper brand of Marlboro's and the are not as the reg ones that come from Phillip Morse change stores and look for the state tax sale symbol on the bottom of the pack ,I have experienced this also If I'm paying good money for a top of the line cig that's what i want, check it out

Marlboro Lights are the same way. I noticed the change a little over a year ago. My husband smokes Camels and they've gone to that safe-burning thing too. It sucks. You either have to suck a ciggie down fast, or relight 3 times. This is doing nothing to help people quit, if nothing else, we smoke MORE.

They must have started leaving out the kerosene. High fuel prices these days, you know.
