Someone who has at least one drink every day -- doesn't necessarily mean they're alcoholics though. My doctor advised me that I should have one glass of red wine with dinner every night for health reasons. Since I drink alcohol every day that makes me a "daily drinker," but I don't get drunk on one glass of wine.

The first thing I thought of was a male relative that stayed with us for about 6 months several years ago. I knew he drank alot, but he would wake up in the morning, and within a half hour or so, his hands would start to shake until he had his first beer. When we were younger, we always thought he was "cool". He didn't look so cool with shaking hands and a clear addiction. It's sad, because today, we're all older, and alot of us still enjoy having a couple of drinks with dinner on the weekends, but that male relative can't drink anything anymore since his stomach and liver is shot. He's on massive doses of presciption pills. Not a pretty sight.
