rhino viruses can live on public surfaces for up to 24 hours. I would imagine in the home, since it tends to be warmer, they could live a lot longer.
That is why washing your hands frequently and putting lysol on common household surfaced will go a long long way to keeping you and your family virus free all winter long.

Don't worry about how long they last, just wipe down everything with hot soapy bleach water or spray with Lysol plus Bleach and that will take care of it.

as long as the surfaces are not cleaned with a disinfectant cleaner---or it may even progress to pass germs unto others.many people have a weak immune system.That's why it is alwao a good idea to sanitize and wash hands frequently,
