Yes...I'm a fairly new grad and am working in civil service. The benefits are great. You'll have job security as well.

Damn right it is!
If you're thinking of applying, get going! You will have to take a civil service exam, and the paperwork takes forever to process.
People who have these jobs rarely quit unless they retire or get promoted, so, if you are thinking about it, get going now!
That's how sought after these jobs are.

I have been a civil servant for 22 years.
I have a couple of co-workers that have 40 years PLUS!
