They're just ordinary pumpkin seeds, nothing added :) From the healthy food section of the local supermarket

She's a pretty big dog so I don't think they would get stuck in her throat, I'm just worried if they might be poisonous for her.

She's a bit overweight, so I wanted to give her healthy treats...?

Pumpkin seeds are excellent to feed your dog. They contain tons of nutrients and essential fatty acids which will benefit your dog greatly

The only thing is .... if you are going to give your dog pumpkin seeds they need to be ground up into a powder and the thing to use for that is an electric coffee grinder. I have a coffee grinder that is just used for my seeds ... and seeds only ... I do not use it for grinding coffee. They can be bought in most stores

I use a mixture of seeds .... about 1 teaspoon of pumpkin seeds, dark flax seeds, and sunflower seeds and I throw in some sesame seeds. I get all organic seeds at a little health food store. I grind them up and add it to some yogurt which my dog gets for a little snack
sometimes I put a little bit of crushed fruit into the mixture.

fruit should always be given at least two hours after their main meal for they digest fruit in a different way

With the seeds you will get a powder and the powder can not be saved, to get the true benefits of it , it must be used right away. If it were saved it would begin to go rancid. So if you are going to do this, the seeds must be ground up when you need them

For a large dog, I would use about 5 to 6 teaspoons of your ground powder. That is what I use and my dog weighs about 84 lbs

These seeds will be great for your dogs coat.

My dog also in his main meal gets some fish oil added in

He never had much of a coat, was always thin and very dry but now he looks like a little, shiny black bear

I just saw that you are concerned with his weight.

here is a recipe for pumpkin drop cookies. You can if you want substitute the wheat flour for oat or barley flour. I have also used one egg in place of the two egg whites
you can make the cookies really small and then just give him a small cookie once in a while

No. A hamster on a diet of nothing but sunflower seeds isn't getting the proper nutrients he needs. Many hamsters (and gerbils) will pick out just the sunflower seeds and ignore everything else. This isn't because sunflower seeds are best for them but rather, because they taste best to them. It's like how some kids will pick off the cheese and pepperoni off a pizza and leave the crust. They do this because the toppings are the best part. The best thing you can do is either switch to a food that doesn't contain sunflower seeds so the hamster is forced to eat without picking out sunflower seeds (as a healthy animal will rarely starve himself) or pick the sunflower seeds out of the food you feed now and give one or two a day as a treat.

I'm not exactly sure if your dog should eat pumpkin seeds. I would worry about him choking too. However, I do know that pumpkin will help dogs "go to the bathroom" if they are having trouble doing so. My friends' dog would not do #2 and my friend called the vet and they told her to feed the dog pumpkin. So, I'm not sure if pumpkin seeds would be considered the same as pumpkin or not.

My dogs absolutely LOVE pumpkin as well as pumpkin seeds. It is good for them, vet approved, and is contained in many brands of dog food. Personally, I bake a pumpkin and them mash it up with some ground beef and a potato or sweet potato, with a dash of salt. Voila! Cheap and nutritious dog food.

I give my dogs pumpkin seeds all the time. But not the salted or the seasoned ones. Just plain old baked pumpkin seeds without anything added.

Pumpkin seeds are a fine treat, as long as they are un-salted.
Peanuts are good, too, if your dog doesn't have a weight problem.

fruit grows on forest or vines and fresh vegetables grow in the floor.

Totally just advice but I would worry more about my dog choking on them than anything else and wouldn't give him any. There's plenty of good dog treats out there.

No, stick to doggy treats and dog food. You'll be doing your dog a favor. There digestive systems are different than ours. Ask your vet. Hope this helps
