thought provoking question. really makes it clear how sick the cross is. even if it were what jesus was put to death on (which it isn't if you look at the greek "stauros" or stake/tree) why would we elevate it as an idol? wear it around our necks and stuff? if he was beheaded with an axe, would we glorify that? good question.
