Make a deal with your dad, you will help him get his dentures if he agrees to lend you the car once in a while.
If you get to him to rehab that would be the ultimate answer.
But you know I couldn't let my Dad go with out his teeth.
Work out something, but Help your Dad get his dentures, it might of been funny for a little while, but come on, have a heart.

Cake Float you certainly do not have to loan him the cash if you do not want to. You could inform him that you cannot lend him the cash at the present and that he is just going to have to buy less booze and save up for his own teeth. You are suppose to be the child in this relationship and he the adult and setting good examples to his offspring. Whatever you decide make sure that you are comfortable with the decision and do not allow yourself to be conned or made to do anything that you do not want to freely do.

I f he wants the money make a deal with him and have him sign it in front of other people...
if he gets drunk again he has to pay you back all the money plus intrest, let him drink at the house only and he can not get drunk!!!!! he must have a cut off amount to help him quit if he does good then he does not have to pay the intrest back just the amount he got from you!!!!
ps. and he must let you use the car when it is needed not just to go do whatever!!!

Dont give it to him directly...offer to pay the dentist for the work if possiable......if he's going to act irresponsiable....then treat him that way.........be the adult.....treat him like the child........maybe that will get the message across......and tell him thats what your going to do.............( tough love is just that...tough )

He's your dad, he's family. Family forgives. You're giving him money for teeth, not beer. So I would do it.
