for me... it is a time to remove myself from the insanity of the world and to reconnect with what I feel to be spiritually true. A time to reconnect with my inner peace, show gratitude for the good in my life, and reflect on the importance of staying centered. There are no rules for how/ where to worship and offer praise for me... it can be in a social setting like church but mostly it is a one on one reflective time just between Myself and God.
personally though, I think that worship would be the wrong word for what I do... but that's why I think a relationship with Spirit is so important.

We were created to praise and worship God. It is like we are a light bulb and God is the socket. We need to be attached to the power source once in a while in order to realize the true nature of our being. Remember that the main activity of eternity will be the praise and worship of God. Kind of makes sense to get some practice in while here on earth.

God is Spirit, and we must worship Him in spirit and Truth.
Worship time is one of the most important thing a Christian can do because during that time we enter into a closeness with God that cannot be expressed.
Praise is the acknowledging of the wonderful things He has and is doing in our lives and those around us.
The fruit of our lips giving thanks unto God.
Like a friend, or spouse we all need the closeness of communication : remembering that communication is a two way talk...

He gave us life and life eternal. He is our saviour and Lord and the lover of our souls! Since all we have, we owe to Him, what can we give Him except our priceless fleeting time, in service, praise and worship,
I did not say "praise and worship time" because we worship him best when we SERVE HIM!!!
Yet "our TIME in worship" is the gift we can give Him, because He gave us free will!
We can not repay him with the "things" that we owe toHim (and He is not needy of things), but we can give up part of our lives...worshiping Him "in EVERYTHING we do".
Please read Hebrews 10:25.
"Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together, as the manner of some is (ie: go to church!!!) and all the more as we seen the day of His return approaching".

Even in my personal prayer/Bible time, I often have a
time of praise/worship - I sing a few songs in my house
in the morning out in the living room when I am by
myself. This helps me to focus on spiritual things.
It changes the attitude of my heart and welcomes
the Holy Spirit who teaches us in prayer and Bible
reading. It drives away Satan! It is powerful!

God desires our praise and worship. We gain power through our praise and worship. For me, praise and worship is part of what helps me through my day. I listen to the gospel station of Y-Messenger daily while at work. It keeps my spirit lifted and ushers in the spirit of the Lord right here in my workplace.

for me...
if i've just finished praying/ praising/ worshipping, that means i've just finished talking to the Almighty. not that i ever had any huge problems with fear before, but what can i be afraid of after something like that?

For me... it's a time of bonding with the fellow christians around me... the Holy Spirit connects us all.
but the Main reason it's so important is it draws us closer to God and creates a better relationship with him.

It turns our hearts and minds from our lives, the world, to God.
Helps us focus in him and the Holy Spirit in us which is helpful to get more out a scripture or message that often follows.
It also is a "spiritual sacrifice" where we humble ourselves and reflect on who God is and who we are - because we can forget even from week to week.
