No. And if it controls the fleas, more power to it. I've used one before. If the cat is docile and enjoys it, have away at it.

Any reason why your combing your cat 4 times a day? Hopefully you're removing dead fleas and not using this as a method to rid your cat of fleas. Frontline is by far the best product for erradicating fleas.
As far as using the comb 4 times a day, you'll just want to make sure that you are not digging the comb in too far (as you'll need to get close to the skin to get the burrowed fleas out). This can irritate the cat's skin and, since you can't really see their skin through their thick fur to see if it's red, you may not know if you're compounding your cat's discomfort by combing so much.
Some cats LOVE to be brushed or combed. If that's the case for your cat, I guess this is a double bonus - no fleas AND a treat.

Many years ago when my cat had fleas I combed her a couple times a day for fleas. She really didn't like all that "special" attention. After that, when the fleas were gone, she would always lick her paws obsessively when I combed her. It was a self-soothing behavior that she retained for the rest of her life that went back to the flea incident. I really think if you combed the cat once in the morning and once at night it would be enough. Be sure to wash all bedding every couple days and vacuum a lot. Fleas aren't just on the cat, the eggs fall off all around the house.

Hi, Are you using a proper cat flea comb which is best ? It won't hurt the cat. If you are looking for a good flea treatment go for Frontline it's one of the best and that's why vets recommend it.I have been using this on my kitten for 5 months now and since then he has not had a single flea on him.

No. But it's not going to solve your flea problem.
Fleas canot be got rid of by combing. Combing will remove the odd flea, and maybe you can squash the flea or drown it, but there will be a thousand more. More than that, there are the flea eggs, which you can't see because they're microscopic.
Flea combs are supposed to be use for diagnosing the presence of fleas, and removing flea dirts. They are not a treatment! You need to go to your vets for a spot-on for that, like Frontline. Don't confuse veterinary treatments with pet store ones, which don't work.

Only if the cat hates it and you have to hold him down or if you comb too hard. I suggest that if you really want to get rid of the fleas and save your cat and yourself a lot of hassle, go by some advantage. It has worked for me 100% of the time for many, many animals.

No, you won't hurt your cat. Hopefully, you ar not bathing her that much, because it is not good for the skin. If it is an adult, check with your vet for something topical for your cat.
