where the majority of voters believed in Xenu's Galactic Confederacy, there were several court cases to decide whether Dianetics should be taught in public schools, people bombed psychiatric offices, and it was illegal for women to scream during birth...

Even though you didn't believe in Xenu, would you find yourself debating Scientologists?

Thanks Vishal, I find subtlety is usually missed.

Hmm... I wonder what happens if I replace "Scientology" with "Christianity," "Xenu's Galactic Confederacy" with "The Bible" and "Dianetics" with "Creationism."

(Just in case people don't get the analogy.)

This is why separation of church and state is equally good for Christians. Some are fighting tooth and nail to keep religion's place of preferential treatment in the US and even increase it yet they never think about the dangerous precedent. What if tomorrow it's Scientology that is the dominant religion.

"In xenu we trust."
"One nation under Xenu."
"Xenu creationism should be taught in science classes."
"CoS decides who can legally marry."
"Public schools must lead children in CoS prayers."

As someone that isn't theistic I would shrug and say "same cr*p different religion." but what would Christians do?

I think they would...

however, thier biggest argument to this is that "the united states laws were based on the bible" which is entirely untrue...

the laws were based on consequences to actions, and what the lawmakers felt would be best to maintain an orderly, yet mostly free society...

i recently asked a very similar question about islam, and everyone kept calling them terrorists...

those who mock Xenu will pay for their blasphemies.

They shall be forced to watch "Battlefield: Earth" for all eternity!

I would probably find myself assassinating scientologists.

At the moment, my targets are Christians...

I would imagine so.

Anyone who does not question is a fool, religious or not.
