Only time and distance from the ex will help but make sure you fill your empty time with fun stuff to eliminate your down time where your mind will go down memory lane.

You can't just get rid of feelings. You have to be true to them. If you are in a position where you have to get over them, I'd say accept them, but find a way to not think about them as often. Focus that energy on a new hobby or working out or something like that. Before you know it, though you may find you still have those feelings, they won't be as strong.

First of all try and ensure that you're not seeing the person, or in contact with them still on a fairly regular basis or else you'll never move on. Other then that remember why you split, there was poss a very good reason .. Finally get out and about, once you start loving life I'm sure they will be long forgotten :)

Unfortunately there is no quick fix, especially if you really cared for this person. The only real answer is time. My suggestion to you is to treat yourself. Take a day off and do what you like to do, have a massage, get a new haircut, buy clothes, eat chocolate chip cookie dough and watch an old movie on TV. Just take care of you. The rest will come.

it is really hard and i am sure all u want is them. To help get over the grief i would burn everything he has given u. Try to keep yourself busy. Make yourself a new life, a new hair do, move to a new location, New job hang out with new people. Hang out at new locations. Get a new alfit. Trust me every time i am going through a new break up. I try to make my life different so it doesnt remind me of the things we use to do. Make yourself feel and look beautiful. Go out and look for new people to get excited about. Getting over someone is really hard. Everyone has gone through it. Just get a couple one night stands and if thats not your cup of tea then just look for new leads. or sork on yourself.

Read Choosing God's Best by Don Raunikar if you want a fresh, healthy, lasting relationship. It really helped me (and still is :-)!

I just got out of a 2 yr stint and I started focusing on being by myself, and knowing that that was okay. I cultivated healthier friendships and talked to people I trusted about my issues (this helps with accountability).

Very good question. Well you wont be able to forget that and these feelings will remain in your heart. It is totally up to you whether you want to remember it or forget it. If you like him and care about him then you wont be able to get rid of them. Unless you hate him and do not think about him.

You can't... You never will.... It will always remain in the back of your head and it will never stop. You will always think of the best times you had, and you will want to share those memories again. Sorry sweetie... Even if you did find someone else, they're still going to be a part of your life history.

You don't, not if the feelings were deep and real.

I have been divorced for 10 yrs, and every time I see her the feelings percolate back to the surface.
The feelings are a permanent part of you. You can suppress them, but why?

I know exactly how you feel, my boyfriend and I just broke up last Monday and we been together for a year, it is so hard for me right now and I have no idea what I'm going to do without him. But I have to say time is allowing me to get over him, keep yourself busy.....Your not going to just STOP liking someone overnight, especially if you were with them for 2 years............Time heals everything..trust me......if I can do it....ANYONE can
