Because they ignorantly assume that we have no morals or spirituality.

Maybe they HONESTLY WANT TO KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't have anything to do with assuming Christians belong and atheists don't.
My question was based on, why would this section be interesting to an atheist. Maybe that's what I should have asked.
Also, I personally would like to get to know some atheists. Not to proselityze (I know I screwed that one up) but just to TALK. To find out how the world looks from where they're sitting. But if I try to open up a dialogue, it's "this is a public forum!" "we belong here too idiot" and stuff like that.

I see mostly Christians asking this about Atheists. It leads me to believe they feel threatened by Atheists.

Why do people keep asking why people ask why atheists/christians come to R&S?

Because there are many of both groups who don't seem to be seeking any answers, but rather interested in bolstering the opinions they already hold?
I think the misunderstanding occurs when R&S is compared to other forums where there actually are concrete, right or wrong answers.

A lot of Christians assume athiests are sinfull heathens because thats what they've been taught. Where as Athiests usually see themselves as people not willing to accept beliefs without proof.

Why DO atheists come to R&S anyway?
I suppose we Christians can spread out onto all sections, right?

I think it's an underhanded way of telling people they don't belong here. Of course, the person saying it assumes that they have the authority to decide who does and doesn't belong here, but that's another story...

Because if they stop thinking about trivial things they might give in to developing objective thinking.
Doesn't anyone realize that R&S questions are also shown in the top level Society and Culture? Are people really that non-observant?

They don't understand the concept of a public forum. It truly is as simple as that.
