My grandmother is very mean. She will never let you talk back to her in a respectful way. She does not like to hear your opinion. She wants to be able to say every word without you responding. Why is this so?

First thing when she looks at you is you are a lil kid and that she has seen it all and experienced. Secondly she has gotten old and the older you got and you are less tolerant toward change.

If you just say yes to everything she has to say she will love you and i not telling you say yes to her but think about it why does she has to listen to talk back? She feels like she old and wise. Probably the reason. Sometimes its better not to argue and hurt your feelings.

Venus sad but true. A lot of grandparents were raised with the belief that children should be seen and not heard and often go overboard with this. Talk with your grandma and ask her why she is like this. She may not even be aware of how she is hurting you and attempt to make things right. Without discussing it with her you'll never actually get an answer. I'm sure that she would appreciate your honesty and hopefully apologize and you guys can get a healthy relationship happening. Best of luck.

more than 70% of all granmas are taht way. u have to let her have her way.its about a lack of understanding. once u are able to under stand her, ie listening to her ranting between the lines and not answer back.
rather than answer back, wait till she's calm again and then voice ur apologies but dont try to insinuate thta she's wrong. thats how grannies are!

you should never talk back to her or any adult. she does this because you should always show parents also grandmothers respect. also they usually know what they are talking about, from, experience. if you stop and hear what she has to say. you may learn some things. she will stop and hear what you have to say. if it is not talking back to her. back talking is lack of respect and she will cut you off, first thing.

Because her mother was a pain too and taught her this disfunctional method of parenting. You can change this and break the cycle by not having children or learn functional parenting methods. Good luck. We do not need anymore lunatics running around because of bad parents.
