The only way I can defend my faith to a non-believer especially is to share my experiences that make God real to me. Not everyone is going to accept or believe this. I had a couple of Jehovah Witness ladies come to my house for some time (they no longer come). I could not argue with them about the Bible, but told them about what I personally believed and how I experienced it. Even a baby Christian can defend their faith by just their born-again experience. We are not battling with the flesh, but the spirit. When we speak the truth, this feeds the other person's spirit, whether they accept it through their flesh or not.

yes, LUKE 21:13-15 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye answer: 15. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Why would anyone feel the need to defend their faith? It's your faith. Someone else doesn't share that belief? So what?

Theoretically, yes. But Christians are people and people can make mistakes. The Bible tells us to defend our faith, but it also tells us not to lust, hate others and instead love.
Christians are not perfect... but we are forgiven.

If they would just live their lives and let me live mine without trying to shove their religion down my throat, they wouldn't have to defend anything!

That's why we are to study scripture. But honestly, why engage people when they are being disrespectful and/or hostile? Discretion is the better part of valor.

yeppers, prove all things to those who ask. the only problem is that christians take this for a license to harass the rest of the world with endless door to door witnessing (lying) to gain members (other liars, cheats, and frauds) to join their clubhouse (church).
