People are so worried about securing the borders they need look into limiting the amount of Tourist Visas etc because most enter legally then overstay on purpose. I know a lot of people that came in the country on tourist visas legally but over stay and is not out of status. What do you think?

That is one solution. There's something about this whole illegal immigration debate I do not understand... why is it okay for someone who is not supposed to be here to stay and assume citizen's rights just because they are now HERE??? That logic is soooo weak. If I decided to visit Japan and to melt into the community after my tourist visa expired and the Japanese government caught me, slammed my butt on a plane and sent me back to America, why should I argue? Of course, if I were crazed enough to do that, I would attempt to find a Japanese citizen and have a kid or 2 by him so that I would not be sent home and so that eventually I could over-turn the Japanese government and set up a situation whereby scofflaws like me (who breed like rabbits) would eventually take over Japan. This is exactly what these Hispanics are doing in America. I do not feel sorry for these people...not in the least. If they want "in" to this country, they can apply legally and come in the right way like everyone else. And I will be the first to welcome them if they do it the right way. This is not about what suits THEM. Why do they think they are so special while other prospective immigrants from around the world have taken the TOEFFL and have participated in Green Card raffles for a chance to come here... Yep, all illegal Hispanics have to do is sneak over here and that's it...BINGO. This is not about racism or Hispanic bashing, this is about the existing laws of the US government which were created by the consensus of law-abiding American citizens. (By the way, I suggest that anyone interested in refuting my statements check out the out-of-wedlock birthrates of illegal Hispanics in this country). This country must stand by it's Constitution or fall for absolutely anything! How did it get so far and so bad??!!!

Most people forget that the USA was a frontier when most of our ancestors arrived here. It was not very populated and none of the tribes liked each other so there was no central government or actual laws or towns, etc. The Indians came here from somewhere else as well. But there is no excuse for outright, blatant law breaking to live here or to visit here. If we did that in another nation we would not prosper but be in jail. Why are we to respond to invaders in a different way than other countries do? All we ask is a legal entry and that is not too much to ask for! Those who over stay are just as guilty, or maybe more, as those who sneak into our nation. We are no longer a frontier or foreign held nation, things change! We don't need to let anyone in, we are very generous in immigration issues. So I agree, get rid of all of the illegals, then reconsider legal immigration. We have too many unknowns here now. And for God's sake monitor our borders efficiently!

Our immigration equipment might want to be thoroughly over-hauled. it truly is ridiculous to settle for an software and ask someone to attend 10 years for an answer. Having a larger legal immigration equipment will a minimum of get rid of distinct the justifications for (permitting) illegals. We might want to preserve our border(s) and implement our guidelines, yet we also go with to have a life like and reasoned equipment for immigration in position.

Well, Fox Five Live, You are on the ball. It has been mentioned on CBS evening news; they said that is part of what the 9/1/1 conspirators did. This question has been on Y! before; It used to be that "all aliens must register at their local post office by January of each year", or words to that effect.
They say there is not enough man power; I disagree. After all, there are more aliens coming into the country, but there are a lot more people to track them now.
No matter how they get into the country (thousands do walk across the Mexican-U.S. border every day), enforcing the laws on the book would stop most of it.

i absolutly am apalled at our eneptness. we should bring all the national guards from iraq and put them on the border with the same orders. i hate how liberals run the u.s., by not leting us share our beliefs of illegals, hmm, i could've sworn that the first amendment allowed for that, but this isnt the board for that. so anyway, the illegals should all be rounded up and deported, and the legal ones sould assimilate and learn english. there crucifying themselves for not learning english, i mean they could get much better jobs and be respected if they just learned. i dont think that their has ever been a more non assimilant culture (one that uterly refuses to learn ours) more that lations. in every other instance, all other immigrannts have learned our language and culture, even they still use theres when not around us, they at least learned.

from wikipedia Main article: Illegal immigration to the United States
Illegal immigration has been a longstanding issue in the United States, creating immense controversy.
The Pew Hispanic Center state that 57% of illegal aliens are of Mexican origin and about 24% are of non-Mexican Latin American origin. [19] They also report that while the number of legal immigrants (including LPRs, refugees, and asylees) arriving has not varied substantially since the 1980s, the number of illegal aliens has increased dramatically and, since the mid 1990s, has surpassed the number of legal immigrants. since the southern border has the greatest influx of illegals it needs to be addressed first then we will work on the other means of entry. there is more then one thing that needs to be changed in order to get control of our illegal immigration. we do need a complete moritorium on all immigration until we get a grip on illegal immigration.

I have mixed emotions about this topic, because there are some immigrants who were essentially raised in America and have their whole lives based here, and then they get caught and sent to a country that is foriegn to them, and I don't agree with doing that. But on the other hand, there are illegal immigrants who are here and aren't contributing to a good and better society, and they should be sent back... In NY, the "brilliant" Elliot Spitzer is trying to pass a bill that allows illegal immigrants to obtain a drivers license... Not smart!!

Live you life happy, US embassies are not giving to many tourist visas no more, like how it was in the 80's or 90's.

We need to stop illegal aliens from working in the USA, and to stop giving them benefits. It would help if the Dimocrats would get on board with this, but they would rather prostitute themselves to La Raza and betray their country in order to gain Latino votes. Shame on the Dimocrats! Fred Thompson just released an excellent plan to stop illegal immigration. You've got to check it out, people! Fred Thompson’s Immigration Plan http://www.fred08.com/index.aspx

You have to remember that this country was founded by immigrants. Everyones family was an immigrant. I feel that people forget that....
Unless you were a native american. As far as visas go.. they should not stop them but limit them from different countries.
