For an indoor cat, a really lovable docile breed that isn't too high strung???

I think mixed breeds from the pound are great. If you tell the staff at the shelter what you want, they can help you find it. Thousands of cats are put down every day, so there's plenty to choose from. :)

Persians and Himalayans are typically lazy cats.. but they do have a higher risk of not using their litter.. and generally are not as "cuddly" as some other cats..

truely the BEST cats are the "domestic" cats.. eg "mutts" rescued from the shelter..
if you dont want a rowdy one - get an adult... one who has lived indoors prior...kittens come with a guarantee to be high strung regardless of breed.. with an adult you can see the personality already...

I personally think the best breed of cat is a Siamese, but they ARE high-strung and demanding.

There are a lot of cute kittens and beautiful cats at your local animal shelter. :) You should go see if you find a cat you just fall in love with.

depends on what you want and how much time you have to spend with the cat .. Persians can be laid back couch cats but they d need daily grooming so that their coats stay tangle free..
sophisticated and lazy they want everything to come to them..

short haired cats

Burmese are intelligent creatures they know what they want and how to get it .. had a Burmese that loved dough-nuts.. she also loved to open doors and would take herself out for walks.
Siamese can be very vocal.. and very hyper ..

a mixed breed would be like a lottery .. you never know what you are going to get or how the kittens personality will develop.A well handled cat will be very people friendly..

In general all cats will respond and learn from you ..they are what you make them.

My choice of cat would be the Somali, nickname "fox cat".

I suggest viewing the link I have provided. The site brings up good questions to ask yourself before choosing the right cat for you.

We had 2 kittens that showed up in our garage... I brought them in, bathed and fed them. They have turned out to be the BEST cats. One is an orange and white tabby and the other is a long haired black cat.... No particular breed, just your run of the mill stray cats

Siamese cats are very very vocal, so if you got neighbours and they upset easily, they not for you. Any moggie would do.
Its how they are brought up. Birmans are quite laid back, ragdolls as well. But to be honest your ordinanary moggie be fine. go to dog and cats home and pick a kitten thats lively, not shy ect.
