I have an American Eskie that hates beagles. It is odd, he is great with all other dogs, but hate beagles. Interesting though, maybe because the breeder where I got him had an adult beagle that was a pest to the pups?

Yes, I have kept beagles for nine years and have found them to be the greatest breed ever.

My sister has two beagles. They are wonderful dogs and great around her daughter (when she was born, they would sleep under her crib as protection). They do get lonely and destroy things if they feel they arent getting enough attention, and they love long walks.

my sister does. His only redeeming value is he let's you know you've been missed. He'll literally whine/cry with happiness and jump out of his skin - he is more loving than most.
Other than that he's a 15 yr. old dog stuck in a 3 yr. old body. He likes to lay there and eat. The worst part though is his bark which is more like a annoying prolonged howl.
Then when you walk him- he's so intrigued by smells you have to drag him away.
