Very easy just ask if they have a partner at home, either a live in or a spouse. There is no need to sound intrusive at all, as a matter of fact you can let them know that your not trying to sound nosy but are just interested in knowing their married status. Another good way of finding out many times is to look at their fingers and see if they are wearing a wedding ring.

It IS intrusive, no matter how you ask. It sounds like you don't know the person well, so why do you want to know. Unless you want to ask the person out, it really isn't any of your business. And, if you're interested enough in the person to want to go out, maybe it's worth spending a little more time getting to know them first.

Just ask them. Are ya married? That's not intrusive unless you start asking more personal questions.

Its easy. During a lull in the conversation, just say, "So, tell me about your family." If they seem hesitant, say, "So, no kids?" or "Have you ever thought about getting married?"

Pay attention to body language. If you see the person starting to act as if they feel uncomfortable, it's probably because they're hiding something or avoiding the issue.

You just ask. It's not intrusive at all and not something people usually hide. :)

It depends upon why you want to know, but on the whole if you don't know them well enough to already know whether they're married, you don't know them well enough to ask.
