On the Playstation 2 you connected the PS2 to the TV using the old red/yellow/blue wire thing. What is used to connect the Playstation 3 to a TV that is similar?

The yellow, red, and white cable comes with the PS3, so you can use that to connect to your TV. If you have the s-video or component cables for your PS2, you can use that on the PS3. PS2/PS3 cables (HDMI excluded) are interchangeable.

Depends if you're after digital output or analog :)
That's why Manuals do exist, and they also come in more than 10 languages so you can read one too despite the lousy translation jobs.

i am not an expert on this either but i think you connect the colors to the same wires

It's the same for allmost every system, some might have cable options.. (for older TVs)

well its the scat lead but you and still do it through the red yellow and white wires if you have the extention
