Sounds like you tried to start the car with a dead key, a dummy key, or a key they told you not to use. Or someone broke into it. But it is anti theft related and you want to get it checked out.

And your car will not start until you get all the keys and car to your Nissan Dealer. P1610 means the car's security has gone into lock mode because 4 attempts to start with a non programed key or with a bad key which electronic chip has been damaged or is missing. You will have to show ownership an insurance card with your name should do nicely. Remember you will need all the KEYS.
NATS malfunction P1610 is a Nissan imobilizer code only a Nissan Dealer can reset. Good Luck
