How do you cut the music short if the movie isn't as long as the music?

I have tried several things but the music still wants to play longer than the movie I am making.

You need to get a music editting program and crop the song to the proper length.

In the timeline view, you can drag either the beginning or the end of the music to the point that you want it to start or end.

If you trim the beginning of a tune, it will start at that point.

Also note that you can fade the music beginning or end by selecting the option from menu after right-clicking the track.

The fade isn't adjustable, but it's better than nuthin'

well you can make the song longer and keep it that way but add credits to the end of the movie...like who sang what, who made the movie, th dat etc......
but you can't really cut it off cause it don't sound good after. you have to look for songs that fit the legnth of the movie.
