'They' say 15 to 35 lbs, but my sisters and I all gained around 50lbs! We are slender/average build, and we just pack it on while pregnant. Whatever you gain is what you gain,as long as you aren't gorging yourself with everything in sight! If you are worried about it, make sure you eat well, and walk while pregnant--the big deal is after you give birth and you have to work off that weight. Just eat good foods and don't worry about the scale too much--those guidelines are so vague!

You won't really start gaining much weight at the beginning. Some people even lose a little if they are sick and vomit a lot. Over the entire pregnancy most doctors say you should gain around 25 pounds. If you are over or under weight when you get pregnant, you may gain less or more. Some of the weight will be from the baby, but you also have added blood and fluids that make up the weight gain.

Stay healthy I gained 20 pounds. But I'vee always had problems with my weight and I'v been real good about being a healthy weight and taking care of yourself. So when I found out I was 154 and When I finished I was 174 about but allot of that weight is baby weight, boobs and all the other stuff so actually you really don't have a problem getting back into your jeans. I was back in my jeans within 2 months.

And also I found out the better you take care of self and exercises (yoga) :) the better delivery you will have.

So good luck if your are pg

They say 25-35 lbs for someone who was a healthy weight to start. BUT...A couple of my good friends recently had babies and they gained 45, 50, & 48 lbs. None of them were overweight to begin with or big overeaters. I have gained 40 lbs at 35 weeks so I will probably be in the 45-50 lb range too.

Depends on your Non Pregnant weight status.

If you are "underweight" for your height and size, you should and may gain anywhere from 25-40lbs.

If you are perfect weight, you want to keep your weight gain between 20-30lbs.

If you are overweight, then you want to keep the weight gain between 15-25lbs.

Ask your doctor what you should gain. They will know best.

the average weight is about 20 to 30 lbs. I am just 11 weeks pregnant and I've lost 10 lbs so far. B'cause of my morning sickness. My appetite is so off. So some women lose and some women gain. My doctor said it was normal. And not to worry about it.

25-35 pounds provided you are of average weight when you get pregnant.

30-40 if your underweight

15-20 if your overweight.
