Yes, there are such tickets called Rover tickets. The only one currently available is an All Line Rover which lasts for 7 days and costs £375, adult standard class. Individual companies have different kinds of Rovers, but usually only with their own area. See http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/promotions/rangers_and_rovers.html
This is on the assumption that you live in the UK. if you are outside and want to travel here, then there are various promotions available which can only be purchased outside the country.

The eur-rail pass which must be purchased stateside used to permit unlimited rail rides all over europe for 30 days.
You must purchase it stateside.
