Scott L: Nope, sorry. If he's omnipotent, he could make man so that they understand the other ways.

Happy Pilgrim: Nobody can violate their own character. Your character is defined by what you do, not the other way around. Therefore, anything you do is in your character.

People, those that need forgiving, need to understand in human concepts what it is that they need forgiveness for and understand it fully, and thus the need for Jesus.

Blood has ALWAYS been a prerequisite for remission of sins. Remember what God did back in Eden when Adam and Eve sinned and discovered they were naked and then tried to cover it up with the fig leaf clothing (man's first act of religion)? He KILLED two goats, spilling their blood and made proper clothing for Adam and Eve to teach them that when sin entered the equation of human life, a pure, innocent sacrifice had to DIE in order for the price of sin to be paid! Besides, when Adam and Eve sinned, it forfeited control over the world from Adam as God's proxy to Satan, thereby rendering God unable to do anything LEGALLY in order to use his "omnipotence" and find an alternative means of salvation. Jesus Christ became the new proxy in order to give God LEGAL access to Earth again to walk among men which He does in each of us that recognize the significance of Christ's sacrifice being the "substitute Lamb"!

hmmmm, for those with insight and hunger for the truth, a short answer here will be sufficient.

Consider that Jesus the son of man, can not forgive, but the Christ (spirit of God) son of God can.

Forgive me but your question is somewhat flawed because the teaching of Jesus the Christ is the remission of sin by faith. Not only are your sins forgiven but those with the indwelling spirit of Christ, no longer see sin or evil and return to the state of consciousness before the fall of man (prior to the knowledge of good and evil). For those who love God, all things work for the good. They do not judge.

All religions teach re-birth of the spirit. For Christians it is the indwelling spirit of Christ (the divine love of God), For Jews it is the indwelling lights of the 10 Sefirot that on some level parallel the light of God. For Buddhist it is the state of Buddha. For Muslims it is being God conscious and attained to faith. The concept of re-birth existed before the advent of Jesus the Christ.

Look at the conversation he had with Nicodemus about being reborn. In John 3 when Nicodemus asked how could a man be born again Jesus answered:

John 3:10Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

Thus the teaching of being born again existed in the teaching of the Jews prior to the advent of Jesus.

So as you wisely pointed out, Gods love is infinite, he can forgive in an infinite number of ways.

Blessings and peace to all,
All in all,
B

Definition from Merriam-Webster Dictionary: "Omnipotent" - means having virtually unlimited authority or influence.

But God created Jesus in order to help save mankind. God stated that those who seek forgiveness from Him must do so only by truly believing that Jesus is our saviour and through Him we are saved.

In other words, God, who has unlimited authority over everything decreed (put in to law) that in order to receive forgiveness, we must believe in Jesus as our savior and then we will receive forgiveness and enter the kingdom of heaven.

I agree God can forgive us just because he wants to!

But I believe he knew that Jesus was the only way WE could all accept that forgiveness. As humans, we have a hard time with the concept of grace. When someone wrongs us, we instinctively want that person to pay for it. Perhaps it is a consequence of that "knowledge of good and evil" curse our great, great, great to the nth power grandparents put on us...it makes us believe that all "evil" deserves punishment. By taking the punishment for every wrong in the whole world, Jesus allowed us to forgive ourselves for our bad decisions.

Jesus didn't die so God could forgive us...he died so we could accept the forgiveness that God freely offered to all of us.

I don't know. Good question. I often wondered why my God would demand blood for my wrongs.

It started with lambs and ended with a man.

Why is that something else pays for my mistakes, you're right, doesn't make sense.

This leads me to another question, if the blood of others paid for my sins then why does it change to my own blood in the end (doctrine of hell) if I don't do right?

Very deep question, yet no biggie. you spot, God has an unchanging nature and although he has the skill to make a million+a million=Fish if he needs to he can't violate his nature any more suitable than a fish can proceed to exist land. If he ought to he would not be suitable and the idea of his skill and authority ought to dissolve, in short, he would not be God. for this reason, even as he created this international, he created it suitable and by using non secular dimensions embedded in the residing issues upon the earth and the earth itself (blended for sure with the initial covenants with Adam and Eve) there are unavoidable outcomes to movements. Asland has slightly to assert about this in the previous the stone table with the white witch( definite, Narnia is the Gospel performed in fantasy variety). in simple terms as a million+a million=2, so ought to the wages of sin be demise and the atonement be blood. as far as human sacrifice there change into in simple terms one and in reality it change into God himself who change into the sacrifice and all in the previous were mere foreshadows of the single suitable sacrifice to come back and none were necc. on condition that. by the way it truly is gloomy that some say they grew to change into Muslim because of this. the reason there have been thousands of years of previous testomony residing with strict guidelines, ceremonies and sacrifices change into to exhibit the futility of this style of equipment--sufficient so as that anybody who ought to ensure the written record ought to maintain on with the Grace of Christ and the genuine atonement instead.

Yes, God could have forgiven sins in an infinite number of ways, but he chose to do so through Jesus, who is completely God and completely man. Maybe He wanted one of us to be part of His plan for forgiveness.

Excellent question. I must say that I don't know. So, you got me. Why do I believe? Because, there are historical accounts of the existence of Jesus Christ and his teachings and miracles. I also have a strong belief that there is a higher spiritual being...put those two together and for me personally it's enough. The rest is me going on faith.

Kal, I think you got it right.

Just like in the Old Test. Sin required a debt to be paid, and that debt was the blood of animals. But animals was not prefect, so that is why Jesus came.
